STARTING NX8.0 SESSION AND OPENING FILES


From the window desktop screen, click on  Start=>All Apps=>Siemens NX8.0=>NX8.0
After chickening on NX8.0, the main screen will open. This is the Gateway for the NX8.0 software. Below is the image of Screen. The Gateway also has a Ribbon Bar that will allow you to create a New File or Open an existing file. Left side of the Gateway Screen, there is a Tool Bar called as Resource Bar that has menus related to different modules and the ability to define and change the Role of the Software, History, Part Navigator, Assembly Navigator and so on.

Open a New file
On the Ribbon Bar, under the File tab found at the top-left of the screen, go to FILE=>NEW
This will open a new session, asking for the name and location of the new file to be created as shown at the below image. And you need to select the units (inches or millimeters) of the working environment by clicking on the drop-down menu on the top right corner.

After clicking on OK, a new window will be open like below image. This window will allow you to access so many no. of commands directly and provide you the working place


WCS (Work Coordinate system)-
WCS is use for construction when you want to determine orientations and angles of features. The axes of the WCS are denoted XC, YC, and ZC. (Here “C” stands for “Current”). 

Absolute CSYS- 
This is fixed coordinate system. Absolute coordinate System is use for provide common frame of reference between part files. An Absolute position at X=1, Y=1 and Z=1 in one part file in the same location in any other part file as well.
